Local Businesses and Civic Groups Provide Support

The Moore County Chapter of the American Red Cross is grateful to a host of local businesses who supported our endeavors in 2010. Chick-Fil-A, Domino's Pizza of Southern Pines, Mac's Breakfast Anytime, Fresh Market, May Street Market, and Panera Bread helped the chapter to provide a welcome reception for returning National Guardsmen and their families; supported local first responders during a search and rescue operation, and honored selfless Red Cross volunteers at the annual meeting. When called upon, each of the restaurants eagerly lent their support.

Pinehurst Resort contributed to our mission through the Thirsty Thursday event in March and the annual winefest silent auction. In addition, Studio Fitness of Pinehurst organized the first ever "Run Burst of Pinehurst" sanctioned race to support Red Cross local disaster effort. First Bank as always was a strong supporter of our efforts in the community. AAA  of the Carolinas suggested a  trip raffle fundraiser that Progress Energy generously underwrote. All the special events earned great support for our disaster response efforts in the county. We thank everyone involved.

We also appreciate the great support of local civic and religious groups: Emmanuel Episcopal Church Thrift Shop; Pinehurst Rotary and their Pancake Breakfast; Sandhills Rotary Superbowl Raffle; Harley Owners Group; Whispering Pines Thrift Shop; Moore County Community Foundation, and other donors who prefer to remain anonymous. During difficult economic times, we are particularly grateful for the community response.
