Types of Classes
Instuctor/Trainer Course: Lay Responder CPR/AED/First Aid (scheduled when requested)
Certification Classes are for people never before certified and for those whose certification has lapsed.
Recertification Classes are for people with current or recently expired (less than one year) certifications in that subject area.
Courses (Certification and Recertification) include:
- Professional Rescuer CPR and AED (equivalent to the BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Standard First Aid, CPR and AED Certification - Adult (only)
- CPR and AED Certification - Adult and Child (plus CPR for Infants)
- CPR and AED Certification - Adult (only)
- CPR and AED Certification - Child (only) (plus CPR for Infants)
- Standard First Aid
- Wilderness First Aid Certification (scheduled when requested)
- Babysitter Training (for ages teens, ages 11-15)
- Dog and Cat First Aid (scheduled when requested)
In addition to the courses already scheduled each month, we are happy to arrange for on-site training in CPR/AED/First Aid or Babysitter Training for a group of 6 or more participants, at a day and time of the group's choosing. Contact Meg Finnin at 692-8571 for more information.

Taking a course is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Go to www.redcross.org/en/takeaclass
- Enter your zipcode, the miles you are willing to travel to attend a class, the course category, and a date range for the search.
- Register online by credit card.
- Call the Red Cross Training Support Center at 1-800-733-2767 for any questions or support needs.
All types of CPR/AED and First Aid certificates are valid for 2 years: Adult CPR, Pediatric CPR (Infant and Child CPR), CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers.

Instructor Training Course: First Aid/CPR/AED - The Red Cross offers an Instructor-Training course for those interested in becoming a certified instructor for CPR, First Aid, and AED. The eight-hour course and the on-line precourse prepare candidates to teach American Red Cross Health and Safety courses to diverse populations and to introduce the candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross. The fee for the course is $500.00 payable in advance. Instructor materials including a DVD are included in the course fee. Participants must hold current Red Cross Adult, Child and Infant CPR, AED, and Standard First Aid certification prior to starting the instructor course.
